mm-a is a multidisciplinary design practice providing services in the areas of Architecture , furniture and Interior Design. founded in 2014 in New York by Nieves Monasterio and Roberto Mancinelli the studio has won several competitions in Manhattan and Brooklyn receiving in 2017 the architectural firm -DUMBO Dozen 2017 award.

Prior to form the firm, Nieves worked as Architect Designer and Team leader on multiple awarded Projects and Competitions at Rem Koolhaas/OMA in Rotterdam at WORKac, SOM, Grimshaw Architects, Asymptote Architecture in New York city and at Ricardo Bofill, RTBA in Barcelona. Nieves studied Architecture in Barcelona and at the Architectural Association in London. Nieves is a registered architect in Catalonia where she is member of COAC. She holds a Master Degree in Architecture from the Barcelona School of Architecture ETSAB
roberto mancinelli
Prior to form the firm, Roberto worked as Senior designer at Diller and Scofidio + Renfro in institutional and high-end residential projects. He also worked as Project architect at Richard Meier and Partners on awarded residential and commercial projects including the headquarters of the italian company Italcementi, one of the very first LEED platinum building in Europe. Roberto is a proud alumnus of the University or Rome "La sapienza" where he obtained a Master Degree in Architecture . He’s a registered architect in Italy and a member of NCARB.
